Andrew Chua
Hi all, I've finished re fitting one side of my landie using the factory regulator. aka i did a manual to powered window conversion. looking good so far. After peeling back the 'vinyl layer' behind the door card (what's it called?), it has this black sticky stuff which holds it to the door. Now as I think the sheet is in a terrible condition, I would have to replace it and then look for the sticky black stuff to stick it. 1. What's the piece of clear vinyl layer know as? do i really need it? 2. What's the black stuff known as? where can i get it? Thanks for the help!! roybatty666
get a bit ot tarpaulin and some ducktape! It acts as a moister barrier but in a Land rover that seems a little laughable, I didn't bother whan I swapped doors
western
it's a moisture barrier as suggested above, the black stuff is just a sticky mastic to secure the plastic sheet in place, it's meant to keep water away from the door trim panel. Thanks guys!! That's a Landrover feature, soon the bottoms of the doors will rust out and let all the water out for you
