weasel_110
I have seen this topic on this forum but a search cannot find it..... Does the water flow from the pipe on the 'stat housing into the heater matrix or, does it flow into heater from the pipe at the back of the head? Thanks in advance! Cheers Gary

cipx2
On 300 tdi the coolant flow is from thermostat > pipe on top of the engine > heater matrix > cylinder head. I see no reason why it shouldn't be the same on 200 tdi.
Les Henson
Same on the 200TDi - supply is always from the head area as the water is restrcicted at that point by the thermostat and therefore heats up quickly. Les.

Just to clarify, the heater flow connection on a 300tdi is the pipe connection that rises vertically off the rear of the cylinder head. The return from the heater is the metal pipe that runs along the top of the cylinder head from back to front then changes to rubber hose and then connects with the radiator return hose which in turn connects with the suction side of the water pump. Hope this helps

As les said .. Out at the rear of the engine closest to the bulkhead.
