  1. Found that the splines were worn on the Britpart arm and boss on the spindle so. bought some DeWalt 'Extreme' bits and tried to drill right through and use a SS bolt and nyloc nut but, could not drill through the shaft so put a SS selftapper in and it's done the trick! 'Clack' exorcised from my life!.....

  11. I put an insert of 15mm pine behind the drawer front, the base and both sides screw into this!
  12. Hi Ballcock, today I decided not to fit handles to the drawer fronts.... It came to me that if I fit a stop at the back of the drawers to stop them going under the top, I wouldn't need handles! See pic, the drawers are as far back as they can go now....
  13. Is that how they're staying in power? I thought it was just the British public being stoopid! Would you Adam n Eve it? Silitek spray (we use it in work)

  17. I have been using the £10 fan heater option for years now, with a time switch from the garage... But just been working out costs and it would be the same (12p) for 30mins using the 2Kw fan or the one Tom's found...I know which one I would prefer!

Will be very interesting for people looking to boost the Defender's poor de misting! http://stores.ebay.co.uk/The-Heater-Store/Heaters-/_i.html?_fsub=1403169014 Cheers Gary
  20. Keeper, My 19J had 253k on the clock when I changed to a 150+k 200 TDi.... What are you worried about?
  21. Hi Ballcock! That's reassuring! The reason I'm doing this is because when I was in Argyle & Bute (lovely!) I was climbing over two plastic chests every time I needed to let the dog out! Oh and, the whole drawer frame slides out too (Mission dependant you see!) Without it, I can seat 5 Ninja's in the back!...
  22. Hi Ratty! What are you thinking of carrying in there? I'm planning to just use them for food and a light basic selection of tools! I'm sealing them in and out with a couple of coats of varnish then if they do stiffen up, will spray some silitec on the drawer bases....If that doesnt work, maybe a thin sheet of PTFE? They are a vey snug fit! Thought of runners but the cost skyrocketed to get some that came out this far.... Just trying to keep it cheap and simple (for Camping)...
  23. Landowner, thats good news then...Mine overheated recently as I had removed viscous fan and had a second hand Saab electric fan fitted... This went to heaven mid traffic jam on the Runcorn bridge, and engine temp went way up! But I'm sure Iv'e read on this forum to change them once a year just to be sure?
