western
the captive nut plates shouldn't be welded on, they are normally held in a spring clip to the lower bumper attachment, if you want new parts the details are ---------- upto chassis number 1A 619800 -- LR part NRC6994 or from chassis number 1A 619801 -- LR part ALQ710020 bolts in both are M10 x 120mm LR part NTC5401 or obtain some longer bolts & large thick washers & nyloc nuts. Se7enUp
Western - many thanks for that! Do you know if its possible to just use the bumper bolt's with nylocs? Is there room to get the nuts on and then to get a spanner in? I'm hoping there is as this would be my prefered method of fitting the bumper. I have a local fixings supplier and I'd be able to get everything in one go.
Guest WALFY
You could do it that way BUT when they rust, and they will, what will you do to get the rusted rounded nuts off when they are at finger tip distance inside your chassis leg
Se7enUp
Good call - didn't think of that! And seeing as I'm going to have to use an angle grinder to get the old bumper off, it looks like I'm about to order some parts!
western
what Walfy said, I'd use the correct plates.
