steve_d
It may be cheap but once again how can it be legal? Steve
missingsid
It may be cheap but once again how can it be legal?Steve Presumably as it has limited use and red diesel, I am guessing it registered as an agricultural vehicle? So, surely as long as you trailer it to events and only use the legality to get it insured etc for comp entry requirements and not for general road use, it could be legal? Marc. Steve Hiatt
It may be cheap but once again how can it be legal?Steve It's declared as 1993, which looks about right. Limited use allows you to legally drive 6 miles a week from your own land to your own land, run on red and no MOT. Insurance is about £50. If you wished to use the vehicle more widely then you would need to get the taxation class changed back to PLG, or whatever they call it now, at your local DVLA office. Obviously you would then need to run on DERV and get an MOT.
steve_d
Thanks guys was not aware the agricultural/limited use rules worked that way. Steve
Orgasmic Farmer
Its 1.5 miles from your holding to land owned by yourself. Use it must be agricultural or forestry related. I think thge government have these loopholes more or less sown up now! http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/Ownin...asses/DG_069649
sean f
I will let others discuss the legality of that particular motor. At that price it looks to be a good deal for any one wanting to build something similar just for the parts. It would probable be worth more broken up and all the bits sold seperately. Never liked the idea of portal axles on a Land Rover but a set of converted axles has to be worth quite a bit on there own.
