Gavin Hatton
Hey All, I've been offered a superwinch EPi 9.0 and was wondering what you guys think of them, they any good. It'll mainly be used for light self recovery and dragging the 110 up and down the drive when it a no goer. It's going for around £200, does this sound about right? Any thoughts / suggestions welcome. Thanks Gavin
JST
they are good winches is that £200 with all wiring (electrical and rope?) plus cutoffs and hawse? if not may be a bit steep. New TDS are around £300 IIRC
Orange
Definitely among the top choices of electric winches of that load rating. I have an EP9 and it's never had any issues, including hanging a full bodied Range Rover off it. The only drawback is that with the 'i' version, you can't relocate the solenoids out of the way under the wing etc, so they will get covered in road dirt and mud/crud when playing... As JST says, 200 is probably a bit steep for just the bare winch...
madmatt
Gavin, they are good winches however if its the one I think it is that is currently on a 110 hardtop we both know i think 200 is about 100 quid too much!
fburner
I've got the 9.5 version and I've never had any probs with it pulls well should be easy to get parts with it being superwinch aswell
suggs
great winches, used and abused mine with no problems had a few of then now and would defo buy another. well worth putting a plasma rope on it instead of the standard cable.. £200 is ok if its complete and in good order.. Gavin Hatton
Having thought about it, and given that he actually want more like £250 I'm gonna leave it, save me pennies for another day. Thanks everyone for the advice
