simes
My wipers have been on most of the weekend, now it`s stopped raining I can`t stop them. When the switch is in the OFF position the wipers run on intermitant! Is the switch duff or something else? Thanks for any info, Simes

vavu
Could possibly be the wiper control relay has fused contacts together, seem to remember this happening on a Peugeot I had, could possibly be the switch as suggested also what happens when you put the wipers back on are they normal? I would start with the relay as its easily accessible, take it out have a quick look for any obvious burning etc. Also a quick spray of WD40 in the switch contacts may be useful Let us know how you get on. slabside
Had this happen on my '97 300Tdi. Tried the relay and the switch, it was the wiper motor in the end The motor wasn't recognising the park position, so it just kept on going round. A wiper motor from a breakers for £20 fixed it

simes
Fixed!! Well, they stopped running anyway. Went to the car on Tuesday morning & hey presto, no wipers, & yes they still do work as they should as well. Looking into the wiring diagrams, it looks like they are connected to the Multi Function Unit. Maybe it just needed powering down for a while? Thanks Simon.
