cipx2
Does anyone have a 200/300 tdi engine laying around and can measure the flywheel diameter for me, please? I'm interested in the diameter without the gear ring, like in the picture below. The measurement doesn't have to be very precise, a +/- 1 mm will suit me fine. The scaled pic gave me about 330 mm. reb78
Got a spare TD one, which i think is the same as the 200tdi (might be wrong). I'll measure it when i get home later.
cipx2
Yes, I think they have the same diameter. They share the same ring gear anyway. There's a difference re the timing slot but that's not important here.
ejparrott
Ive measured my TD and disco 200TDi as 310mm, so I'd agree they are the same and that is the size. I will admit though that the clutch is still fitted to the 200 and makes it slightly harder to measure, but if the part numbers for the starter rings are the same, I cant see there being a difference. HTH...BTW..whats the reason? Just curious!!
Les Henson
310mm across the clutch face of the flywheel. I'm not sure about a TD one being the same - flywheels have a specific bolt pattern so that they only go on one way to remain balanced to the crank. Les. western
2.5 TD Flywheel & 200Tdi flywheel use the same ring gear & the same bolt spacing & the same bolts. but because they are different engines the flywheel part number is different & clutch components are common too.
