Hi,

Can anyone offer some advice pls on a D2 i'm thinking of buying which has a problem with the ABS, T.C and H.D.C.

The car drives and brakes ok but the lights are showing on the dash and i'm told (by the seller) its the ABS sensor which cannot be changed and req's new hubs ?

Is this a correct diagnosis and if so how big a job are they to do and whats the worst it could be pls, i'm also told they're about £200 each ?

Thank's for any help,

Mark

Search the Rorum for "three amigos", definitely seen recent threads on this.

You can change the ABS sensors, didn't used to be able to as they were going to "last the life of the vehicle", of course they didn't and you can now buy them. It is an easy enough job to change them but you need a computer to a) check the fault codes to confirm the diagnosis, and b) clear the fault afterwards, though the warning lights should go out so if you don't do this you will just end up with a historic fault code stored in the ECU which won't really matter.

Hi,

Had a D2 some years back (T reg) and the ABS light kept coming on. The dealer cleaned the sensor which didn't work. UIn the end the main dealer siad that the ABS modulator was shot - £1450 plus VAT and fitting - you don't want tp go there! Heard recently from a chap at Mansfields that you can get recon ones for £800 but it's still silly money!

Hope for your sake it's not that part.

cheers

Darren
