pinny Posted January 4, 2010 Share Posted January 4, 2010 as the topic says when i purchased my 300tdi disco it had a new water pump fitted make not known yesterday it sprang a leak and within half hour it was a very big leak through the shaft/spindle got a new pump tonight fitted ok,the pump had been on for 3 and a half years is this good your thoughts chris. cipx2 Posted January 5, 2010 Share Posted January 5, 2010 "3 and a half years" says nothing without the mileage, how that mileage was done and the servicing it has had (namely the coolant changes when supposed to). The no name versions (which cost 12-15 quid) usually last anything between one engine start and 6 months/6k mi. If you want a good pump then get a genuine LR one. Britpart water pump 3 minutes on a good day, Genuine dependant on mileage, was antifreeze levels correct etc Just changed the wifes 300tdi Disco one, that had been on since new (97) but only done 54000 miles.
