DiscoHere
Hi guys I am driving a 98 Disco 300tdi (ES) and as far as I know it still has the original shocks in it. They need to be replaced and as the choice is staggering I though i would seek your help and advice on what I should look for. The vehicle is used mostly on road but also on forest and mountain tracks. Hugh
teabag
With that type of use standard but with gas will do, keep away from the comp stuff (Bilstein although they do a model called Black for normal road use) as you will find the ride hard on a standard disco. I had Monroe gas years ago on my RRC so when the disco ones need replacing I will go for these. http://www.monroe.com/products/gasmagnum.asp
M&S
Why not stick with some new, standard LR shocks? They've lasted 12 years, so unless you have any complaints about them why complicate things

iomlt
OME (old man emu) there expensive for a reason. At the same time if they havent been done, replace bushes (oe no copy cat carp) and springs
chappers606
I put DeCarbon's all round on mine - I've got nothing but praise for them. Vast improvement on the standard dampers (mine had only done about 72k on the originals) - better body control and smoother when laning as well.
