stuntman
Hello one and all, does anyone have ANY idea how the heck to wire in the LED toggle switches from Raptor engineering? There are 3 spade connections, top edge, top and bottom, doeas anyone one know the best way to wire these in? I know it's very simple but I'm mentally knackered and to be honest I need to get it done so I can relax! Thanks in advance Andi
LandyManLuke
Can you provide a part number, link, or photograph? Do you have a multimeter?
western
these Luke http://www.raptor-engineering.co.uk/landrover-dash-12-v-switches earth, 12v feed & 3rd tag feed for led.
LandyManLuke
earth, 12v feed & 3rd tag feed for led. The above wouldn't make a very useful switch? I'd expect; - Supply - Output - ground for LED, which is supplied 12v from one side of the switch. Assuming the above, you can wire the switch either way round, depending on whether you want the LED to be lit when the supply is on, or when the switch is on. As a guess, based on the mechanics of an average switch, I would suspect that the bottom two terminals are the main switching terminals, and the one on the side is the LED earth. A 30 second test with a multimeter would confirm or disprove my assumption.
western
oh yeah, forgot about the item it's got to switch, probably a internal feed for the led then, Glad your better at electrics than me.
FridgeFreezer
Surely it's written on the side of the switch, like in the picture? Luke is right though, I used these in my truck and the edge terminal is LED ground, the other two are supply & switched output.
