natas
What are the signs of a failing steering damper? I think since I installed my new bigger tyres that I need a new damper. Occasionally it I hit a bump on the road at speed I get a slight shimmy through the steering. I had the same problem with my CJ5, when I changed the damper the problem was solved. Thanks. oakesy
If the steering damper is original the check for signs of leakage. Also the shimmer effect might down too the steering box needing adjusting. Better advisor will come along shortly.
Naks
Friend of mine is fitting a configurable steering damper. Basically a coil over system on the damper and you can then set the resistance of the coil to suit your needs. he needs it because he is fitting 35' tyres to a Puma SVX
