Souster Posted July 8, 2010 Share Posted July 8, 2010 Hi, I drained my gearbox oil today in my 300tdi with 120,000 miles on the clock only to find that the drain plug was loaded with metal particles and filings. Looking at it... Would you say the oil has never been changed in the box and it was well due, or is this common in these gearboxes. Allthough, i have never changed gearbox oil before but this seems quite bad and could cause damage. The oil looked very metalic also. Thanks for the help..
