V8 stalling

Evening guys i seem to be having an issue wuth my 1998 3.9 v8 auto disco.When starting the engine the engine fires up then dies down and stalls but when restarted it fires up as normal and runs fine . This problem has only been happing about a week or so. I have replaced the idle control valve about 2 months ago with a genuine item. I would be very grateful of any help to resolve this issue cheers Tim

The amp module is a little black box on the side of the dizzy, should have either 2 or 3 wires going to it. I say 2 or 3 not because I forget how many, but because those are the variations.

I do however forget which is the later type.

V8 issues have been covered hundreds of times, have a read back through this or the Range Rover sub-forum, all the usual suspects are covered in detail.

Had alook at my dizzy and there is nowt bolted to the side but has a plug with i think 2 wires going to the inside of the dizzy

Is there a box underneath the ignition coil? If so, that's the amplifier, albeit an old-style one which I wouldn't expect to find on a 98 Disco as standard.
