chris_oakley
Symtoms - Hard Start from Cold, Excessive smoke diesel smelling, and sounding like its misfiring rough. fuel supply is fresh, cracked of the injectors. all make a noticeable difference in engine sounding, apart from one that makes no difference in the sounding at all. Next step is to change the injector to a different cylinder to see if the results are the same as above. What are peoples thoughts.? Injector Fault? or worse.. Retroanaconda
I think you may have identified the cause yourself, the injector you mentioned. Complete your test and see what happens
western
a poor injector will definily affect the running/starting, check the items marked in the fails to start & engine misfires columns on the attached diesel fault chart. diesel fault diagnosis chart.pdf

chris_oakley
YES fuel was coming out of number 3 but. it seemed not as high pressure as all the others although il double check this 2morow. i don't think its base engine related. more fuel related.
