slimnoj
Hi all, I have fitted some nice heated seats, just now need to get them wired up before the winter really sets in. They are original land rover xs and have wires attached to them. I've also got the OEM switches, I could just do with knowing what wires(presume relays also) to put in between them! I have managed to wire up spotlights (following excellent instructions on here), but am somewhat of an electrical novice and dont want risk frying my backside!! My truck is a 2004 TD5 county hard top, if that helps. Any help would be much appreciated!

slimnoj
That starts to point me in the right direction! is it likely that the wiring will already be in the loom? Jon

dirtyninety
basically, according to that diagram, you just wire it through a relay with a 20amp fuse....right? Making a loom for that is only a 30min job tops!
Mo Murphy
Yup, it's a very simple circuit with an ignition switched relay and the loads running through the switches. You'll need 2 YUG102430 heated seat switches and a couple of these to connect the wiring to the switches. Easy peasy HTH Mo

slimnoj
Hi, Thanks for the info, I already have the switches so thats all good. Anyone know the aprt number for an equivalent relay? Ta Had a mooch in the fusebox and it looks like the same relay is used for the electric windows. So I think all I need to do is run a wire from the fuse to the switches, and then from the switches to the seats. Could do with the matching connectors for the seats, if anyone knows where I can obatin them. Would be a shame to cut the other ones off! Tdi Guy
Does the switch just ground the relay to make it work? The switch has a 5 pin plug. Does anyone know what wires go where on the switch plug?

Does anyone know what wires go where on the switch plug? No, the Heated Seat Switches actually switch a live (unlike some of the other switches on a DII) The pinouts for both Heated Seat Switches are - Pin 1 - Live in from fused supply Pin 2 - Live from Dash illumination Pin 3 - Not used (but is internally connected to Pin 5 - Earth) Pin 4 - Switched live out to Seat Heaters Pin 5 - Earth .
