PGM316
According to the haynes manual its a fairly easy job to do, well, in the 300tdi that is.
ashtray
its on the bottom hose, and its inside a white ( i think) tube, has about 3 pipes coming off, should be fairly obviously, bottom right if you looking at the front of the vehicle

old & wrinkly
Thanks guys. is there anything i have to be careful of when i refill the system like airlocks ect .
ashtray
Fill the system with your coolant mix with the heater set to hot, run the engine, and loosen the screw on the top hose, but not all the way, just enough to let the air out, when no more air is coming from the bleed screw the system is bled, your heater should be kicking out heat by now, sometimes air locks can be quite difficult to bleed but just keep releasing that bleed screw until all is good
dantd5
Kindly don¨t draint the coolant on the lawn or driveway . Save the worms and the other organisms around.

Bowie69
Removing the viscous will make precious little difference to the warm up, fix the problem, not the symptom! Open the bonnet when 'hot' do the engine/hoses feel up to temperature? If so then you could have a blocked heater/airlock. If not then you could have a blocked heater/airlock and a dicky temp sender. old & wrinkly
thanks. now your got me thinking ?
Andrew Chua
Temp sender Water pump Check both. Feel the hoses after 30min. Both upper n lower. They should be a lil hot to the touch. If you can keep your hand on it, means the coolant is not moving.
