TD5 thermostat

Recommended Posts

Fill the system with your coolant mix with the heater set to hot, run the engine, and loosen the screw on the top hose, but not all the way, just enough to let the air out, when no more air is coming from the bleed screw the system is bled, your heater should be kicking out heat by now, sometimes air locks can be quite difficult to bleed but just keep releasing that bleed screw until all is good

Removing the viscous will make precious little difference to the warm up, fix the problem, not the symptom!

Open the bonnet when 'hot' do the engine/hoses feel up to temperature? If so then you could have a blocked heater/airlock. If not then you could have a blocked heater/airlock and a dicky temp sender.
