PieEater3142
Hi there, I have an alternator from a Disco (was on my Defender project car). Anyway, trying to find out what the rating in - 65A or 100A etc. Is there any way to tell? I attach pics which may help. Cheers, James
zardos
I don't think it will be 100A or above as they would be on multi v belts not a V belt as it generally cannot handle the load of the 100A
western
I don't think it will be 100A or above as they would be on multi v belts not a V belt as it generally cannot handle the load of the 100A if it came from a 200tdi Discovery or Defender then it's a 65amp same as this RTC5681 I run a 100amp on a single Vee belt & it works fine. Range Rover Blues
That is the 65amp unit, the 100 amp unit is more rounded. I can run a 100 amp from a 13mm vee belt but not a 10mm vee belt, it shreds one in 3 hours with the fans on or the winch.
3lions
that has been reconditioned by somebody not being funny but it could have anything inside it, the only sure way to tell is to open it up and have a look at the rotor and stator.
