My X reg Td5 has developed yer another fault, this time a warning

chime sounds. Seems to do it after a short journey followed by a

short stop, to petrol station for example.

It pings once every two second for one minute then stops. No lights

come on at all.

Ideas ?

Key in and door open. Door open and lights on. Other than that, with no dash lights on, I'm not sure, sorry.

Actually, it could be the self leveling suspension if you have it?

Does it chime with the key in but engine off, or when the engine is started, or when you are actually driving?

The three chimes is normal. I was told it is a "system ok" check (with no warning lights on that is).

According to page 70 continuous chimes in Gulf States and some other areas is a seatbelt warning chime...maybe yours has somehow decided you've moved to somewhere warmer

Would guess seatbelt warning when driving over 20mph remove your seatbelt and see if you get any other warnings?

I used to get it in my old volvo when I had a pc on the passenger seat :-)

It should, and so should the seatbelt if it was that.

Strange.

I'd be intereste dto know the cause myself now

Try disconnecting the battery for 30mins, that often sorts out the silly faults - just make sure you have your radio code handy :P
