max-ie
Hi Chaps, just been to Driffield last weekend and had a brilliant time. Bought some new, smarter seats and some plus 2 inch Terrafirmer Shocks for the rear. On the drive home the truck developed a nasty wobble when turning right and the steering wheel seemed to be jagged and snatching when returning it to the straight position. The sensation is like a wheel badly buckled with the front of the truck wobbling from side to side. I got out and checked everything over all the wheel nuts were tight, balljoints and trackrod arms also. Its more or less standard Range rover power steering and axle with a 2 inch lift. No castor correction though but its driven fine since i built it two years ago. Can anyone relate these symtoms with a fault. I'm stumped as it all looks ok. dailysleaze
Panhard rod bushes? I had a similar sensation once (The panhard had actually fallen off. )
Gromit
A dying CV will interfere with the steering and might cause your symptoms. Jack up the front on full right lock and spin each wheel in turn.
Mo Murphy
I would suspect a dying cv too. HTH Mo
max-ie
I've replaced the panhard bushes today and it's cured it. Thanks to all that replied. My truck feels more direct on the steering now and is better to drive.
