Baz2236
Hi I am getting some strange vibrations through the t-box / gear box. I have very soft rubber mounts so I have ordered some new ones. My question is can I change the mounts whilst the box is all in place. Can I put a jack under and lift it off the mounts. Thanks in advance. reb78
Yep. Dont lift the box off though, just unbolt the mounts one at a time from the chassis, drop them down, change the rubber and bolt back up. I support the transfer box with a jack when i do this, but i think it probably rests fine for a short while on the other mount without the jack. western
as above support the TB & unbolt the chassis part of the mount, 3 long bolts/nuts per side & the cemtral nuts on top/bottom of rubber mount, should be no need to move the TB part of the mounting
ashtray
Is there any definitive way of testing these mounts are worn out, my 90 is very vibey, much more so than my mates 55plate. mine is an '03 90 with 76k. Whats the average life expectancy of these in miles/age? Thankyou Ash
