Boro
This is the first v8 i have owned (4,2 lse in a 71 rangerover) i remember reading somewhere to go for genuine ignition parts with the v8, are lucas genuine and ok to use?
Jon White
Yes lucarse are genuine. However be aware that rotor arms are no longer available either genuine or from lucas, so you can now only buy el-cheapo pattern cr@p! Coil packs and edis are the way to go..... Boro
I saw somone selling the rotor arms with claims they are no longer available yet there are sellers doing lucas rotor arms and are shops (lr direct for eg) still offering genuine rotor arms for the v8 with electronic ignition so maybe lr switched supplier or something... FridgeFreezer
Yes, BPR6ES are the right thing. And yes I did mean I've got a couple of rotor arms, I'll have a rummage for them in the shed.
nicksmelly
Lucas stopped manufacturing their own products in 1996... now Lucas is just a licensed brand name, your rotor arm was probably made in India or China and sold in a Lucas box. Rotor arms aren't rocket science. It's a bit of insulating plastic and a strip of brass.
