Bulk head removal bar

Also about to embarque on this... my thought was to bend up a roll hope which will bolt through in front of existing bulkhead (may entail rearranging the seatbelts a little) and then use that as a basis to brace back to tub and across the cab at floor level. Needs some careful thought but I reckon it could be made to work. Obviously not the simplest solution but I think a bit of roll over protection never goes amiss in a defender and I may even link it to an external front cage.

There are some bracket pictures here http://forums.lr4x4....showtopic=41373

Also some close part way down this page http://www.eastcoastrover.com/148.html

Ralph has also attached the Land Rover genuine bulkhead removal bar parts diagram in this thread http://forums.lr4x4....showtopic=64920

This one is clearer and also from that thread/microcat tomb-raider.jpg

I Have a spare pair of these brackets somewhere  , as I bought a new pair from Safety Devices to tie fully in with my External cage,

I'll get some pics of both types if anyones interested ?

as neither have been fitted yet

Not sure how much I can make one for? I was thinking about a piece of 1x2 box section (17.99 b&q) and I have some 4mm steel plate, few bolts with that, should be around £20 plus my time, but I enjoy doing bits like that.

Thanks for the pictures, all very welcome. I have based my idea on the ones like mud are selling, so the brackets look flat, the gen one above uses tubes, I'd not seen this type before.

I'll have a look-see at the links

Thanks. Paul

Hi Sharpy

looking at doing the same thing myself once i fit a hardtop to my 90,ive looked at both types and prefer the mud type aswell the bar itself looks easy enough to sort out but not too sure on the plates if you sort a design out any chance you'll share it please any help with this would be great

cheers
