need4speed
Could someone tell me if the td5 led warning panel is repairable if some of the leds don't illuminate? Thanks
stuck
Was looking at mine yesterday strangely, all the LEDs etc seem to be surface mount so I doubt a repair is possible.
CwazyWabbit
Surface mount LEDs can normally be melted off and new ones soldered on, a little tricky but certainly doable. Fine tip and thin solder would be needed.
CwazyWabbit
Picture of the board courtesy of western How many are not working? and what colours? Big question will be is it worth repairing, the surface mount LEDs aren't available singly normally so that will put costs up if there are a lot of colours to get. stuck
That's a good pic. Doesn't look exactly the same as mine though, all my LEDs are clear?!
western
That's a good pic. Doesn't look exactly the same as mine though, all my LEDs are clear?! that's my photo, I coloured the leds to make reference easier for me, leds are clear with no power & light up in the colours shown when in use. all the notes relate to my vehicle, so do not rely on them for your vehicle. stuck
Ah, Thanks Ralph.
CwazyWabbit
Yep, it's Ralphs pic. I remembered it from the wibbly wobbly thread and thought it would help with the conversation. Gives an idea of the size of components we are dealing with. Doing a search for SMT LEDs on ebay shows a whole range available at low prices, might be fun trying to find the correct brightness though..... May be worth replacing them all to keep a consistant brightness. Anyone know how much the whole board is?
western
board cannot be purchased as in my picture, only as a complete Td5 warning light panel cost in the region of £130 to 140 http://www.brit-car.co.uk/product.php?xProd=136136 http://www.paddockspares.com/yaz100000-module-warning.html http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-YAZ100000 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Land-Rover-12v-Warning-Light-Defender-YAZ100000-/280807863595 http://www.lrseries.com/shop/product/listing/17555/3006/1/YAZ100000-DASH-WARNING-LAMP-CLUSTER.html?sort=za
stuck
Can anyone explain the hand written pin numbers please? Thought I had it figured out until I saw "Lights 20-20" Oops, sorry about the triple post.
western
the 20 refers to the 20 way plug & 16 to the 16 way plug, the 2nd number relates to the pin position within the respective plug for example plug 20 pin 8 the relevant pages from RAVE cd manual are in the wibbly wobbly speedo thread in this forum hth
CwazyWabbit
I guess it's the pin number on which plug ... so 20-20 is pin 20 on the 20 pin plug.
