jad
Hi Im just in the process of mounting a p38 steering box to the outside of a series 3 chassis. I have made up the following mount.... Do you think the large plate on the side is needed? or would I be ok with just the 2 folded mounts on the top and bottom? Its about 6mm steel. Thanks Jad
fozsug
Both go for belt and braces aproach
Les Henson
What you have there looks fine to me. Perhaps the plate isn't needed, but considering the strain at that point - it's better to be safe than sorry. Not sure that 6mm thick armour plate is necessary though - 3mm would be fine. Les. ejparrott
Both! belt and braces, don't take chances. Thats a really nice job you've made of it too
FridgeFreezer
You probably don't need 6mm but since the Series chassis doesn't have internal bracing for the PAS box like all the coiler chassis do, it can't hurt.
