ChrisJones117
I have just had a re-con 1:4 ratio transfer box fitted to my 110 ( Disco 200TDI engine fitted ) and now have a loud clunking noise every time I change gear as I lift off the clutch, its is becoming more than a little bit irritating as even with a knackered transfer box it was not there before. Could this be the indication of something more serious that has been lurking under the 110 ready to pounce at the opportune moment, or has the garage done something wrong. Any ideas / suggections greatly appreciated, as I will be speaking to Garage guy next week anyway
carlosbeldia
I have an alike noise and it's a U-joint in bad shape (one of the security pines went out).
Tetsu0san
Check your bushes, especially the big one on the chassis end of the trailing arms. They may look OK but if you take them off you may find they are worn out. Cheap fix if it is just that
Jimmy Two-Jacks
I get this mechanical clank if my gear change is a bit quick and careless and I jump off the clutch or jump on the gas at that point I thought my uj s on the prop maybe a little worn but its probably just my driving as I tend to try to drive it like a modern car if I haven't driven it for a while! If I take my time it doesn't make a clanking sound I think their has to be some noise when metal moves against metal though. Have a look at your rear prop joints. Best of luck J2J
