farmerboy_y2k
Nothing worse than smaking the hell out of a nearly new waterpump to get it off because of gasket some sealants. Or having to chisel apart a gearbox and transferbox as someone sealed them together? As for viscous unit, mine is a Bearmach replacement and doing fine. I've found the lrdirect website one of the best for giving you the option to specify what grade of parts you want.
vulcan bomber
Or having to chisel apart a gearbox and transferbox as someone sealed them together? Yep, I believe they both happened on your vehicle!!
Ex Member
RTV is fit for gutters and bath tub surrounds, hydrocarbons weaken it and make it swell. The real mechanic or engineer will use Blue Hermetite. (or maybe red) Julian. Umm, no Silicone sealants are inert to hydrocarbons.
Simon Smith
Umm, no Silicone sealants are inert to hydrocarbons. Non automotive silicone sealants will swell to double their size in contact with Hydrocarbons, see it almost every day at work.
