V8 Freak
So heard back from Roland at acr he said the chains too short, one or two links. Now the next problem/question is can anyone reccomended another timing set? I don't need vernier etc just a simple duplex all steel chain? Cheers I bought my last timing chain / set from Turner engineering. Single chain and low noise cam gear... Fitted a dream.

FridgeFreezer
I use V8Tuner, Real steel, or just buy genuine.
zoltan
I've just fitted a Kent Cams duplex set. Fitted perfectly but it is a vernier adjusting pulley. TBH I'd was glad to have the opportunity to time the cam in properly instead of just accepting it might be right

I did read somewhere that the vernier setups can be more trouble than there worth for the average engine
zoltan
Got mine with a load of other bits (H180 cam, ARP studs, set followers) through work, we have an account with Kents. Vernier comes with a plastic protractor in the box so you only need a dial gauge to get TDC and to show max lift on the cam follower and a bit of welding wire to make a TDC pointer. No real hassle to set it up properly but my heads were off so I measured TDC straight off of the piston
mikec
Well I finally got the chain set sent back turns out I had a bigger crank sprocket than it should have been. Apparently the one I had was for a chevy
