FridgeFreezer
Try blocking off or clamping the hose to the idle air valve. After that, look for air leaks.
bobtailrangie
Had a good look for air leaks with some wd40 + found nothing, tried pinching extra air valve pipe + even tried unplugging it but still no difference, any suggestions? Ill check ignition timing over the weekend as the revs take longer to drop than usual too cheers james

bobtailrangie
Bit of an update, took it for a drive yesterday, after 2k rpm its as sluggish as hell + wouldn't restart when it was hot Advanced distributor + it fired straight up So, at anything around 40 degrees (according to the gun) it fires up when hot + idles at 1k rpm, put timing back to 6 degrees advance + won't hot start Sound like a knackered distributor?
