reb78
I have an annoying coolant leak on the TD5 from the core plug that is hidden away behind the exhaust manifold. I just have a couple of questions.... 1. This plug looks like it screws in - do you replace it completely, try tightening it a little, or remove it, clean it up and replace?? 2. I suppose i need to remove the exhaust manifold for better access. Apart from the manifold gasket and fresh antifreeze, are there any other gaskets and parts i might need whilst doing the job? Any tips or other advice would be great. Thanks!
Bowie69
Plugs like that I would normally remove, clean up the threads, hylomar it and refit.
defv890
We (dealer )would fit new plug as comes with thread sealer already on it and I would recommend fitting new exhaust studs and nuts as u have it off anyway. Also check its not bent also If so get it skimmed some take the webbing off as well.
