Tetsu0san
Hi all I have just bought an old B reg 110 which has a Transit DI engine fitted. This engine is pretty good but is getting a little tired and I don't know anything about it. It is a non-turbo engine which I presume (I haven't checked yet) is fitted to an LT85 gearbox. There are no glow plugs as it has a cold start mechanism. Is there anything I need to look at with these engines? What are their problems? Do they do a turbo version of this engine? I believe there is a later engine (banana?!?). Is this later engine possible to fit to the same engine mounts and clutch housing and has anyone ever fitted one to a Land Rover? Any help and advice would be greatly received.
Phil Hancock
I had an R reg transit that was a 2.5Di turbo. It looked like a normal Di with a turbo added.
FridgeFreezer
There's a ford transit forum (in fact probably more than one...) they'll know all about it.
