streetrover
Hello all! Quick question for everyone...on a 3.9, 4.0 or 4.6 litre motor with a distributor, what are the ignition settings? How many degrees before TDC should I set the timing AT IDLE? What is the overall advance (at say 3500rpm)? Thanks, Bob
Bowie69
3.9 was 6 BTDC, unsure on others. Or 12 on LPG I tend to run 10 on mine cos I can adjust it in MegaTune without affecting the overall map advance by something as clunky as twisting a dizzy
streetrover
Actually I was requesting the numbers to replicate the distributor advance curve in tunerstudio for my MSExtra 4.0 litre. So 6 degrees BTDC at idle. What then, is the maximum advance at WOT? Bob
Bowie69
Have you downloaded a map for a RV8? There are loads out here, and if you give your engine spec to Nige (Hybrid from Hell) he will have a map suitable to get you running. I too have a 4.0, but can;t get to it's maps at the moment, of I would post it...
streetrover
Sent a PM to Hybrid from Hell asking for map. Maybe I'll get lucky and he's got something that's just "plug and play!"
