Nigelw
Coil is not related to ECU for injection and pretty sure fuel pump isn't either, anything specific you want to know?

TheRecklessEngineer
Have you swapped the fuel pump? The ignition is independent of the ECU. Disconnect it and apply an ignition +12V to the coil.
Rangy35
What type of vehicle are you talking about, I did this to my 1986 Rangy, the ignition is independent on my Rangy, the EFI fuel pump will be more of a concern, you will have to fit a fuel pressure regulator, preferably a adjustable one to sort the flow of the pump, or you could just buy a carburettor electronic fuel pump which Land Rover used on the later carb jobbies, its a bolt out/in replacement no modifications, it just flows less than the EFI, you still need to regulate it. I am waiting for my long range tank so I can assemble my Rangy to see what I need to do to get the pump working the original way the EFI worked, that part I still need to figure out.
