western
I have a Discovery 300tdi 100amp Marelli on my Defender 200tdi engine, been fitted for over 10 years, just upgrade the charge feed wire from Alternator to starter solenoid/battery positive terminal, standard 200tdi alt was a 45amp or 65amp. you may need to turn the rear of the casing so the 2 bolt lugs match the engine bracket & the adjust link fits the inner upper bolt hole,

jackmac
Have you checked them with a volt meter, or is it just the charger that says they are fully charged?
defender dinky
hi checked with volt meter showing 13.15, dd
Tanuki
o hi checked with volt meter showing 13.15, dd Is that the basic voltage on the batt. terminals, or the voltage with a load? Try this: Turn ignition on; don't start engine; turn headlamps on; leave for 5 minutes. _THEN_ measure the voltage on the battery terminals. Modern batteries can go from being good to being dead in a day or so - specially if they have been seriously discharged. An "unloaded" voltage-test tells you nothing about the battery's ability to do anything useful.
