JeffR
Fired up the V8 today (low compression 3.5), to get it up to running temp (need to check emissions for MOT), went into the house and had a cup of tea and checked emails. Forgot about the bloody thing. Nipped out about an hour later and there's high-pressure steam screaming from the header tank - bloody radiator fan hadn't kicked in (melted connector as it turned out), Now the radiator was just about empty, so lefteverythingto cool down and wandered off to sulk. When refilled and run backup to temp there don't appear to be any probs, with now rewired fan it sits at temp with no fuss.... Whats the chances of everything being ok? Mr Noisy
Being a 3.5, it's got maximum chances of being ok, and being on tickover it won't have got THAT hot especially seeing as it was on tickover and it's cold outside. I let mine overheat on tickover once off roading, similar fan problem, was doing some winching then BOOOOOSH steam cloud lol But yeah it was ok, see how you go! smallfry
Its a 3.5. It will be absolutely fine, worst that will happen is the head gaskets might go if they are the tin ones. Big bore engine would most likely be fooked.
