I think I'm in a bit of trouble here , I've just gone to get in my p38 & the drivers door outer handle has just broken off , had a quick look on flea bay & not one to be had , I kind of remember that this handle is part of the alarm / immobiliser & that you cant just replace the handle , is that correct ? any help at all or info would be gratefully appreciated .

The mechanical lock inside the door frame contains electrical micro-switches that interlink with the alarm system (and thus the immobiliser). However, if all you have broken is the plastic bit, most of which is on the outside of the door, then that is all you have to change.

Two caveats.

You will probably have to get inside the door to effect the change.

I don't know what parts are available as separate items from the Dealers.

Perhaps ask for Part Numbers and diagram in the Requests for Part Numbers section.

I have three spare :hysterical: Do you want one. :i-m_so_happy:

From memory the barrel can be removed so you can keep the key the same because the keys are coded.
