Anderzander
I've some of these kind of chunky crimps ..... On say a 35mm terminal would you need to do a sequence of crimps ? I watched a YouTube video that said they have a narrow crimp area - so you should start close the terminal and work your way back to the cable end. Is that how everyone does it ? I know the hydraulic ones seem to have a broader crimp ... ?
stuck
I've never needed to crimp more than once on flexible cables such as you'd use for a winch. Put some heat shrink on the cable 1st then slide over the lug & shrink, looks much neater

SPendrey
I've got a pair of those too, I tend to go for one size below what looks right, and squeeze like hell! LIkewise, heat/shrink wrap makes things look tidy after too.
Guest
I brought a 7ton hydraulic crimp it is one of the best bits of kit I brought and has never let me down. Jason.
landroversforever
Choose the right size for the appropriate crimp and cable diameter. Going smaller is likely to break the copper strands.
Anderzander
Good info on the first half of this video here ... Mine are done now - I did a double crimp on each one as they suggest in the video.
