bodumatau Posted June 2, 2015 Share Posted June 2, 2015 so my td5 crew cab seems to always be very unresponsive when i start her up in the morning almost as if she doesn't have a turbo (which points me toward the airflow sensor) and then after irritating me sufficiently (after 2-3 minutes) she starts pulling nicely. any tips or ideas where to look to start fixing this? 2001 Td5 EGR has been bypassed everything else pretty standard. reb78 Posted June 2, 2015 Share Posted June 2, 2015 Unplug the MAF and see if this solves the issue. If it does, replace the MAF. This is the best price i have found for VDO (OEM) MAFs - http://www.island-4x4.co.uk/flow-sensor-mhk100620g-p-3943.html I had similar problems when my injector seals went on the D2 - this was combined with a faulty MAF in my case. dantastic Posted June 8, 2015 Share Posted June 8, 2015 Before running out and buying a new part you can try cleaning it. Spray it with brake cleaner, let dry and re fit. These get dirty over time and need cleaning on a regular basis. There are a lot of posts out there that suggest cleaning damages them.
