montyjn Posted February 20, 2017 Share Posted February 20, 2017 So, I know this topic has been written about slightly to death, but I am a little unsure if the various solutions apply for the earlier 5mm glass. I currently have the annoying 'chatter' from rattling glass.. I know that the wollies trim option does not work (from experience) with this wider glass. Has anyone else found a solution (keeping the windows sliding - I appreciate that I could just replace the whole window with a solid piece of glass). neil110 Posted February 20, 2017 Share Posted February 20, 2017 I have used the Garrison outfitters replacement window "felt" on my early 110 with 5mm sliding windows and it works very well. The early kits were an absolute pig to fit but the later versions are much easier. kevh Posted February 21, 2017 Share Posted February 21, 2017 I had to remove the glass out of frames, yes pain in the rear as whole frame to be removed( mine were out anyway as i was putting them in the side of an ambulance) I found it was the felt strip that the glass slides on had deteriated over time allowing annoying rattle and water ingress. The replacement felt strips came individually and were fairly easy to fit, re-assembled frame etc, Glass now slides smoothly with no rattles or leakage.
