  1. The right size of die or a die nutwould help solve your problem Peter
  2. Unless you have the radiator cowl on I would remove the fan altogether and fit an electric fan in front of the rad. The unprotected belt driven fan has a habit of attacking peoples fingers.
  3. Root round the internet S2 parts and reapir manuals are available for free in PDF format. The parts book diagrams are really good for seeing how things fit together.
  4. My dad used to work for C and J Hampton and Company in Sheffield, the originaal manufacturer of Record vices, at one stage he was in charge of the vice lines. He would never entertain a quick release vice, he thought they were the spawn of the devil as you were always only working with half a nut. Th only thread on a vice screw as far he was concerned was a full acme, you could get plenty of leverage without anything letting go. I do now know how to take a vice to pieces and can even make the tool for tightening jaw plates. Peter
