  1. Just quick one guys and prob don't matter but being a perfectionist and wanting what's dead right for me landy it is bugging me 1990 110 was TD now fitted with 200tdi so not sure what rest of her is But the power steering box is a 5 bolt type What ATF guys ??? Dexron 2 or 3 .......I have been using Dexron 2 ATF-Q.....But been told it should be Dexron 3 ATF-G .......????? And while I'm here brake and clutch fluid .....Dot 3 or Dot 4 ..???? Thanks
  2. See you got it sorted Ralph but just in case others read with the same prob ......... I also had this problem after a new clutch went in (replaced every thing uprated fork, metal bearing, slave cylinder, master etc etc) wasn't slipping bad but noticed it when put your foot down......No idea what it was but after a week or so it sorted its self out and been fine ever since (that was 2 - 3 year ago)......and I had to fit the new one due to a melted thrust bearing (I went LUK clutch)
  3. Oh yes Im not expecting anything huge ....but a little would be nice lol
  4. Thanks guys couldn't help me self Ralph went for the 200tdi exhaust system with a straight mid pipe
  5. Oh all ways had the Defender 200tdi engine in her Ralph (since I had it ) I mean changing the exhaust system from the TD to the 200tdi one as its bigger bore and the correct one for the engine,,,, she was a real mess all sprayed with engine oil etc took me days with wire wool and petrol to get it all off and raw knuckles and wow found perfect galvanised wing tops under it all I re piped it all, convoluted pipe etc etc re sprayed all brackets etc .......thought it would take a few days took 2 week lol
  6. Nice Ralph and see you a X brake as well ......think I will notice any difference though in her ???
  7. Hi guys yes still alive but the dam thing been ok for ages and only did 500 mile in her last year OK QUESTION Ok it was a 110 TD 1990 It was re built on to a Richards Galvanized 110 chassis which is the same chassis weather a TD or 200 tdi.....It now has a Defender 200tdi engine as well My current exhaust I believe it is part TD and part normally aspirated (the back tail section certainly is NA after checking the code from buying it last time) Ok I wish to change to the 200 tdi exhaust Ok I need a new one any way so taking that in to account (tail and mid section) .......but the three 200tdi hangers galvanized ones are £48 for the 3 and the exhaust system whole thing £104 (could be plus VAT) plus two Polly bush hangers £7 (have one all ready) so about close to £150 Will I notice any difference ...is it worth changing to the bigger bore 200tdi one ???? Thanks guys Oh what about the 200tdi system with mid box removed and a straight through pipe ?????
  8. Yes I know where the dam thing is and had too by pass it years ago when on holiday in Scotland and it failed till I got home and just replaced the black box and all was ok again
  9. Well try the alarm first then if no joy poss re wire the starter system all the way or a whole new front wiring harness (that will be fun NOT)
  10. Are yes its a add on alarm a Cobra but has been on there since I brought it ...and been ok ...but may have gone faulty
  11. Adding to the above........how hard is it to re wire the whole ignition system ??????
  12. OK guys it continues (200tdi 1990 converted from a TD) I turn the ignition key and most of the time she will start on the odd occasion I will turn it and get full electrics BUT not even a click there is just nothing in the way of starting ........Rapid turn the key on and off some times it can be 3 turns another time 50-60 turn but eventually she kicks in and starts ......I can turn it off and it will instantly start again. OK so far on the try to fix it list A new battery Tried two new brand new starters no difference in fact one kept spinning and wouldn't disengage (so put the old one back on) Extra new earth strap New Starter relay New ignition switch Check and cleaned all my terminals Has any one ANY ideas at all ???????????????? I'm now drawn towards the cobra imbobalizer and alarm (But It still does it even if the alarm hasn't been touched/used like when filling up at a petrol station get back in and nothing) LOVE THE SITE NEW FRONT/LAY OUT looks well modern up to date
  13. Well lets hope it cures it FINALLY ...so had a new battery, new starter relay, new starter motor, extra earth cable, and now new ignition switch .......all ok so far but then it was last time after I put the relay in.
  14. ARE amazing how it instantly winds in when you TURN IT THE RIGHT WAY lol ..........3 dam hours last night turning a screw the wrong way lol
  15. Done the relay it was great for months ...THEN arrrrrrrrrrrr back ...so just doing the switch now but had to walk away last night can I get that back screw in can I hell ........My landy was nearly in bits
  16. It may sound odd but struts to me just ain't land rover I should say I have just come back from the pub lol I like the metal prop thing
  17. Hi guys finally decided to get a bonnet prop after 9 years off not having one .....happy to do a bit of mod as more its a more modern bonnet on my 1990 110....Has any one a pic of the whole bonnet prop that should fit into my bonnet/slot so I can buy one mod the other end of it it to fit my engine bay Thanks there
  18. OCHHH cheapest I can find local is £330 for two days training and £115 + Vat for the test .........says it lasts 60 - 75 mins
  19. GUTTED lol ..........How is any one supposed to understand what's what ..... stay legal when they keep changing it if you looked when it was the original wording you would think you were legal and could be driving around illegal and not realise So basicly I've been driving around illegal for over 10 years lol Wales Scotland you name it trips to the dump
  20. Thank you 2500 Kilo ??? you mean combined 3500 Kilo I only really tow to go camping so just working out weather its worth doing the trailer licence or weather I'm well in the weight limit and ok as I am and just how much I can carry in the trailer weight wise and be legal so 3500 Kilo max loaded up kitchen sink and all.....That the Mrs walking then lol
  21. Ok folks Narrow track Sankey manual says kerb weight of 357 kilo (Narrow track) Its called a 3/4 ton sankey is that old ton or metric ton ok lets educated guess at metric......Does the 750kilo include the weight of the trailer with the load ? or weight it can carry on top of the trailers own weight ? OK from my other posting My 1990 110 County TD has a kerb weight of 1906 Kilo ( I will weigh bridge it tho) and can carry 1144 kilo Meaning a combined unloaded weight of 2263 Kilo OK the law says "If you passed your driving test after 1 January 1997 and have an ordinary category B (car) license, you can drive either: a vehicle up to 3.5 tonnes or 3,500 kilograms (kg) Maximum Authorised Mass (MAM) towing a trailer of up to 750kg MAM (with a combined weight of up to 4,250kg in total) a trailer over 750kg MAM as long as it is no more than the unladen or ‘kerb’ weight of the towing vehicle (with a combined weight of up to 3,500kg in total)" Ok 3500 K - 2263 K = ....1237 Kilo so presuming the Sankey can carry 750 Kilo on top of its weight making 1107 Kilo meaning 130 kilo in the landy (people rubbish etc) Or if the sankey loaded up weight is a max 750 Kilo (2656 kilo with loaded trailer empty landy) then the Landy can carry on top 844 Killo ..... Going by the SECOND 3500 Kilo combined weight and for trailers over 750 Kilo and even more going by the first combined weight of 4250 kilo if the sankey loaded up weight is 750kilo max with trailer weight as it says trailers UP TO 750 kilo then the landy would be able to carry 1594 Kilo making the total loaded weight 4250 kilo Of course the kerb weight is plus people, roof rack and all the other things we bolt on so trailer and landy would need a weigh bridge to see the real weight as thus what can be carried in both DOES THIS SOUND RIGHT or is my maths way off ??????
  22. Thanks guys ok not finished on this one but will start a new topic as slight change
  23. Ok so far I seam to have found a curb weight for a 1990 LR 110 County 2.5 TD (what mine is resisted as) Curb 1850Kg Gross weight 2950 Kg That sound about right
  24. Hi there does any one know roughly what a 110 station wagon 11 seats (1990 TD) fitted with a 200tdi would weigh on the bridge kilos ??? and also a what a sankey would weigh on the bridge (standard one not wide track) Thanks there
