  1. Can any of you knowledgeable souls tell me what the minimum thickness of a brake disc should be before it needs changing/become's dangerous ? It's a Td5 110 CSW (2002) Thanks
  2. How do I was thinking of buying a Land Rover again (probably a Defender) after a brief flirtation with a 'normal' car (I must be mad ) Anyway, I've been trawling round the internet and the classifieds, and this place, Marple Road Garage seem to have some good stuff in stock, just wondered if anyone on here had bought from them. Experience's good/bad etc. ? Or any other recommendation's for place's to buy Defenders <10 years old, clean, sensible mileage/price, possibly SW or CSW's ? Feel free to PM to avoid liable... Thanks.
  3. I was talking to a bloke from Land Rover the other week and he reckon's the 60th Defender is loosely based on the 'SVX' concept from several years ago, he couldn't comment on the powertrain though.
  4. The BBC local news (Midlands) has just said that the land Land Rover occupies is a prime site for redevelopment !! Worth a LOT a cash due to it's location. Yet more British jobs going to the wall ? Here we go again....
  5. Well I went to the show yesterday and was very dissapointed. I don't know about the trade stands being fully booked as per the earlier post, the trade area seemed to be half empty, not nearly as good as previous years. I usually really enjoy the show as I think it's in a great setting and so far, seems blessed with good weather. You could easily walk around the trade stands in an hour or less yesterday. I've been going to this show from the beginning but on the strength of yesterday I don't think I'll bother again.
  6. I'll second that. That's exactly where I put mine in the 110, worked a treat, also very easy to route the cable's.
  7. That's the one !! He was a nice bloke as I recall, worth giving him a ring to see if he still sells them. As I said before they're brilliant lamps, really powerful and lightweight.
  8. Hi Got mine (170's) from a garage in Wem, Shropshire, but can't for the life of me remember the name of it, sorry ! I'm going back a few years now (2003), I paid just over £80 for the pair, before the price's went silly when the big dealers muscled in. They're fantastic lamps, totally underrated. LRO did a feature on the bloke that owned the garage, he had a seriously modded yellow 90, he was also (I think) the original disributor for Lightforce in the UK. Sorry I can't remember the name of the garage, I've just looked on Yell.com but couldn't find it. I don't live local to it otherwise I'd check for you.
