Hi You can run a self diagnostic check on the HVAC, I'll paste the info below - Climate control self diagnostic check The climate control does a self check on start up, if it has no faults all remains quiet. If it has faults then you get chimes and the climate control panel flashes before returning to normal and the climate control Ecu adjusts to accommodate the faults where possible. To check what the faults are you need to do a diagnostic check manually which results in fault codes being shown on the Climate control panel. To put it into diagnostic mode press and hold the AUTO switch and the air distribution switch, then turn the ignition switch from off to on. The audible warning sounds and the control panel display illuminates. FC is shown in the LH temperature window and the results of the check are shown as a two digit fault code in the RH temperature window. If a fault is detected, the audible warning sounds three times and the AUTO window on the display flashes on and off for about 20 seconds. If more than one fault is detected, the fault codes cycle in numerical order, at 1 Hz. The audible warning sounds as each fault code is shown. In low light conditions, to avoid false sunlight sensor fault indications, the sunlight sensor should be illuminated with a strong light source. Fault Codes 00- no faults found 11-incar temp sensor 12- outside temp sensor 13-AC evaporator temp sensor 14-heater radiator temp sensor 21- AC sunlight sensor left 22 right 31 AC/heater air mix flap motor left 32 right 33 AC/heater air direction motor Hope that helps.
  5. Hi Udderly I already have a nice tool cabinet/top chest set up, but was thinking of getting this to use as an 'everyday' portable unit, after all, you can never have enough tool boxes can you?
  6. Well, popped into B&Q today and it appears that you can only buy the 'set' rather than just the chest on it's own.

  11. Evening Can anyone tell me if the replacement of the DMF is covered under a Land Rover 12month, approved used warranty? Just got off the phone from the dealer who has said that the occasional judder I reported may be down to the DMF, but as it's not covered by the warranty(?) I should persevere with it as it's an expensive fix. Does anyone know if this is true? I've just phoned the Land Rover warranty number, but it shut at 5.30. Also the gearbox, once nice and warm, after a good motorway run for instance, becomes very stiff and notchy. If you tap the gear stick out of gear when coasting to a halt, rather than it 'spring' back to the neutral position. it just stays where it is. Gear selection becomes very difficult. I have just 3 months left on the warranty, so I'm wondering if they're stalling for time and trying to fob me off, it certainly feels like it to me. Anybody here work at a main dealers? It's an '04 D2 by the way. Thanks. This is posted on another forum too.

  13. Such a sad waste, the owner must be gutted. I hope the ba**ards that did this get whats coming to them, though some how I doubt they will....
  14. I had a GKN OD fitted to my previous 110 (Td5) and it was fantastic with no problems in the 2 and a half years I had it fitted. Changing the oil in it though was a messy business! I heard that GKN no longer provide any support for them now, though I'm not 100% sure on that. In my current 110 (also a Td5) I've gone for the Disco gears in the transfer box. These have vastly improved it's 'cruising' manners on M-ways and A-roads, etc. It's a little slower off the mark, but if you want to take part in 'traffic grand prix' you wouldn't buy a Defender would you. Cheers.
  15. I think the C&S one looks remarkably like the one at Nene, so there's a fair chance that they supply Nene (?). I'd get the one from C&S if you can, Nene are OK but they seem to make a habit of being more expensive than most. Just had a look at their (C&S) site, have you tried ringing them, might be worth a try ? - 0121 237 5640 (plus the international code)
  16. If you're looking for head torches as well, have a look at these - http://www.alpkit.com/gamma/ I've got one, and for £12.50 including the batteries (Duracell) you can't go wrong. I've got 2 Petzl head torches, one's an LED and one's a filament bulb. The Gamma is much better than either.

By the way, the website in my signature is a work in progress (hopefully updated later tonight) so once I get the 110 we'll be putting stuff on there detailing any modifications I do to it and also to the Freelander on there as well.
