  1. I'm still working on the truck and fingers crossed i might get it done in time for the sunday if all goes well but still loads to do.
  2. you done realy well and must be as pleased as punch, we had the rope out but it got a it knotted at times, i definatley think me is saving up for a freespooling drum before next year!
  3. the quality of all the teams this year was excellent and in our group it came down to seconds and sometimes a 10th of a second on some sections, so it was basicaly a bit of bad luck we took some gambles that if they had paid of would of shaved quite alot of time but unfortunatley they failed. we found we could not compete with the freespooling drums as on 1 single long pull out you have saved a good minute but after all said and done i loved every minute and learnt alot
  4. i think if you look at your licence closeley you can tow behind a 7.5 ton truck upto a gross train weight of upto 12 tonne without a lgv licence, i have seen a landy on the back of a transit and it does not look nice and i would certainly not attempt to drive one i use a 7.5 ton truck and it is far cheaper to run than my shgun and trailer in both fuel, and road tax, i can sit at 65-70mph in comfot and not worry about what a trailer is doing, if you are prepared to tax/insure another vehicle then the only way to do it is 7.5 ton and get your license
  5. I put a 8274-50 in standard form on ebay and it made £900.00 the other week, if you had walked in the yard and asked how much it would of been sold for £700, the cheapest one with a knackerd motor i have ever bought has been £350.00, with new prices as high as they are at the moment the cheap ones are getting hard to find
  6. many thanks i will give him a try, chris
  7. sorry to hijack the thread but i need a set for my 20" mog wheels is this something you can me with help with please? cheers chris
  8. reading between the lines on what people have said it sounds to me like there is alot of interest in a single car event , maybe more than a 2 car event? would it be worthwhile doing one of those online poll thingys just to see what interest is out there for either and decide from there how to proceed? just thinking out loud
  9. it would be easier for me if they changed it to single car entry, my truck will be ready and the date don't clash with aything, just need to find another team to enter with, i believe dave who i teamed with on the last one has retired his truck
  10. why? so you can tip on your side on flat level ground! lockers don't make you fall over
  11. what you mean it is 30% stronger than the original strengh which was about as strong as washing line
  12. i have used several so called top brands but nothing has stood up and lasted as well as plasma 12 from andy at rufftracks, i would no longer waste my money buying any other rope than PLASMA 12!
  13. just reading through all the thanks posted but i see none for the gals that kept us fed and waterd all weakend, i think they done a top job and deserve the biggest thanks, those hot cups of teas kept me going so a realy big THANKYOU! from chris and dave
  14.
