  1. looks like the car is also running CTIS in the hubs from the silver pipework going into the middle of the box? ( I have been wrong before though)
  2. For simplicity i don't want to tie the rear steering in with the front steering at all. Separate systems completely as i've seen many have issues with the same pump and flows etc. I am just looking for a joystick control valve for flow direction and some form of control for the self centre.
  3. now that is an answer !! i will have alook to see if there is anything on the market that already exists that wont break the bank ( plus i can get hold of again if required) As mentioned i already have the ram fitted, the pump and reservoir. I only need the control value block for manual use,,,, but i would ideally like the self centre
  4. Evening all, I am now on with looking at how to control my rear steering axle and how to make it self centre. Any ideas, experience or suggestions would be appreciated. The axle is a spidertrax pro 60 axle with my portals on the end. The ram is all set up and fabricated onto the axle with the correct ackerman as per spidertrax. I have the pump , but i need the valve block/ joystick and the self centre system. thanks in advance, nath
  5. after alot of thoughts on selling the buggy, i had firm offers on all parts except the axles. with this in mind and the time i have at the moment it seems rude/ stupid not to finish it !
  6. thanks for the info guys, as promised. picture of the rear shock hoop with the twin mounted shocks.... just tacked for now. it may seem a little odd to have the wide open space in the middle but i need the space for my pto winch. also managed to climb above to check for symmetry and you get to see the space i'm working with the shock hoops will be braced across the top with a removable bar and braced to the inside of the rear bed. the rear diagonal is going to be replaced with one going the other way ! (it interferes with the motor location for my rear winch) both hoops tacked in place and run completely parallel at both ends. 15 deg inboard towards the center ( rear towards the front and o/s to the center)
  7. Thanks Paul, I am running 14" coilovers and 14" triple bypass all round.I also need to to keep the power steering box with mechanical link to keep it road legal for the IVA I have just spent the full day mounting all the rear shocks today and i will post some pictures asap. Could anybody tell me an idiots guide to setting the right height for the bump stops/ bump stop mounts?
  8. morning all. I am currently fitting air bump stops to my tube chassis and i would appreciate some guidance please on setting the locations. The rear of the truck poses no real problems as i can have the mounts outside of the chassis and quite wide across the back axle, The front is causing a few headaches. The near side is ok, but i have no room on the offside due to the steering box and the twin shock arrangement. It is not ideal but could both the front bump stops be mounted in on the inside of the chassis? I will post some images later on,
  9. Thanks gents, im just looking for a flat sheet material for paneling my car. Any other ideas?
  10. Looking for a supplier of twin tex sheets. Any ideas?
  11. sounds good... over centre valve to actuate it? tell me more?
  12. evening Soren, Hope your ok? I have been thinking of bike calipers and have found these? ( Below) I need the brakes to slow down the winch when lowering if required and also to hold the vehicle on a slope... but like you i know there is perfect balance between strength and weight? car will weight circa 1.8t hopefully and i will have 2 drums one forward and one back. Some friends actually use the winch drum side ( 6mm thick steel disc) as the disc? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/tokico-6-pot-calipers-Hayabusa-Zx6r-G1-J2-Zx12r-Gsxr750-Gsxr-/261382119062?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts_13&hash=item3cdb969e96 I am going to use hydraulic handbrakes for each one.
  13. just ordered some spares from these guys..... brilliant ..thanks gents !!
  14. Evening all. I am looking for a pair of calipers that i can use to fit onto my pto winch so that i can brake the front drum or the rear? Small and light weight yet able to hold a vehicle with a hydraulic hand brake. Cheap and easy to source pads etc would be ideal? Any ideas?? thanks in advance
  15. I might have found a nice 27Kva........... only 200 miles away !
  16. I don't have any immediate plans to use it on full power? The max i will be welding is 8mm for about 20 seconds at a time and the rest is welding 2" tube? my uncertainty is with the AVR as contrary to what they are supposed to do they do vary from manufacturer to manufacturer? I did try it for a complete laugh with the little generator and before i even saw a spark the world went dark even my old hobby mig at 155 clarke special didn't work!
  17. Evening gents At the moment i am renting a barn to house my projects and finish my latest build. Great location and the owner is spot on. I have a small generator 2.8kva suitable for lighting and small tools at the same time. I would like to use my new 255A mig welder (single phase)/ plasma and pillar drills etc. The only problem is that the whole farm has only a single phase supply and the local utility are currently demanding a premimum for any upgrade of the PMT ( pole mounted transformer) So i need a suitably sized generator!! From my initial calculation a 7.5kva will suffice ( i think) with the starting load from the welder but the AVR ( auto voltage regulator) sensitivity will reduce the cycle time by 50%? Any advice would be appreciated? Mig welder specs are: P MAx 11KVA I1 =52A I2 @ 20% is 250A @60% 145A @ 100% 110A U2 @ 20% is 26.5v @ 60% 21v @ 100% 19.5v thanks in advance
  18. never mind the jeep build....... could you bend me some hoops please i have a new plan for the shock mounts
  19. Does anybody know of a UK supplier for 1350 Yokes too?
  20. Any chance of some more pictures please of the centre baring please? From teh mesurementts i am struggling to find a UJ that will fit?
