  1. Monkie.. wow, cheers for taking the time to explain, very useful. I will struggle to get any checks done today. I’m sure the gauge is as you say .. green, a green/trace of some sort. Now it has the additional black to the earth post as Ralph mentioned below. Ralph, I should of added at start that it’s a 1987 110csw originally 2.5 but now 200tdi my sender at tank is caked in crud. Couple of joins, generally a mess. Which I intend to sort. but it’s as the version below thanks again gentlemen
  2. Cheers fellas I was missing an earth on the gauge ?? Got 2 wires to terminals, 1 is live with ignition other is dead. Can’t remember colours sorry. (Maybe both green). I now have an earth but gauge is reading just about quarter tank with ignition off. am I correct in suspecting the gauge?? Thanks
  3. Great info there thanks should I have 12v at the sender ? Apologies wiring and me don’t mix
  4. Afternoon fellas. Not used my truck for a good a few weeks. Today I went out on a 2 hour trip with a full tank (allegedly) Only to find an hour in I was sat on side of m11 with no fuel but a full gauge!! 🤬🤬 now I’m home I see even with ignition off my gauge reads just under half?? Ignition on again and I’m full up. am I looking at a new gauge, sender or something else ? if the gauge has gone, do I need to replace gauge and sender or can new gauges work with original sender ? any help would be appreciated
  5. 🤣 is that like mocking the lame
  6. Great info fellas.. much appreciated. So would 265 be classed as toooo oversized and better for Tesco’s ? any pics on vehicles ??
  7. Thanks fellas.. I do like the coopers so that’s good to hear. Looked at bfg’s .. what’s the newest version though. Seems to be numbers and letter all over the place
  8. Fellas just completed a 150mile trip to Norfolk on knobbly mud tyres. Now I’m deaf 🧏‍♂️ . I sold my others years ago due to truck being mainly used on mud and obstacle course set up I used to have. In august I’m planning the nc500.. question is whats the preferred tyre choices of you chaps at the moment? I currently have 265/70/16 on modulars. Planning to keep same wheels, so can I get some advice for a decent tyre that hopefully won’t break the bank. Like an aggressive look but don’t like the noise of knobblys.. what you guys running ?? thanks
  9. That’s what I need.. a welder friend
  10. Some of us are not as talented as Ralph so get yaself to Yrm.. I didn’t need sills but I did need c post. Plus other bits, footwell, body cappings etc good quality and most importantly.. they fit could be worth a call as also mentioned above, as they do do some re con parts that can save you some £££
  11. Depends how much work you want to put in. I went for RR sport front and rear. Quite a bit of floor work and frame making involved but they do fit. Sit higher than standard so you may have to ditch any friends over 6ft. But knee space is fine, and kids are soo much happier with the comfort
  12. Got ya.. long spring won’t be fitted then. I’ve changed pedal box.. gone is the original stiff knee cripler.. new box is the one with the “curly” spring not the straight one.. I’ve read one of Ralph’s posts in here somewhere that says old box should be 135mm for old style and 145 for new cheers fellas
  13. Finally got round to fitting. Good news about the bolts..everything lined up with originals. Flushed all old fluid out and re filled and bled with no problems. question though, pedal sits at 143mm from floor. I can’t adjust the nuts on master cylinder rod any further. They are as close as I can get to the MC. on the test drive all works fine. No slipping. Clutch itself is probably only about 800 miles. So all seems good. is the pedal height a problem ?? also .. the long straight spring from old pedal looks like it can be fitted to this pedal, do I put both on ?? ps.. pedal is soooo much easier
  14. Hmmm ? I have got it and fitted the Lof spring. Spent the day tidying up the area. Might get a chance to fit tomorrow hopefully I’ll be honest I didn’t notice a difference. If you’re correct.. is it an easy fix ??
  15. Great stuff, just ordered. Ordered a new spring just in case 😁 yep, I did see you post about the measurements. But got sidetracked when doing pedal box. I will check that tomorrow while I wait on delivery. pretty sure your educated guess of 38mm is correct, I’ve read it somewhere thanks
  16. Didn’t expect to be back this quick, but does this fit ?? 284178466662 says it’s puma ??
  17. Yep I think you are correct as usual. just had a change of mind. I’m upgrading to the better spring assisted version like you did. I thought about bashing it around but then remembered... I plan to do nc500 this year with the family. If I can save any knee pain it would be worth the extra cost watch this space for more questions 😂 Cheers Ralph 👍
  18. Well, found my answer.. no. alrhough removing pedal box was 10 min job. As with all these things.. 1 thing leads to another. Master cylinder is dribbling down pedal. Part ordered Back to original problem, I don’t have a bolt 9 ??? Looks like pin is just bashed in. So question is, how do I get that out please?? ta
  19. Might attack the clutch bushes today. so from the pic courtesy of retroanaconda. (Cracking site BTW) does it look like I don’t have to remove pedal box?? im thinking undo bolt 9 pull out pin 6 (careful not to lose) Pull out number 7 Pedal may drop slightly and lining all back up might be a trick, but will bushes pull straight out ?? looks simple to me. But then everything does til I start 🤬 cheers all
  20. Ahh ok. So mines 1987 110csw. Changed to 200tfi by someone. So I would likely have narrow I guess then. Is there measurements to confirm ?
  21. 😂 can’t help myself. I love going out and taking things off and putting new stuff back on. I blame it on my parents buying me mechano sets when I was a kid. Been looking at hockey sticks bushes next.. what they on about wide and narrow? What would I have??
  22. Diff cover swapped over and re filled A frame ball joint replaced plus super pro bushes at other end. Pressed in by friendly chap at local tyre shop. Tried myself but bloody nightmare without correct kit. chassis cleaned, surface rust removed and treated thanks to everyone once again Pay day today might do hockey sticks next 😉
  23. Top man Mike I will give it a blast this afternoon
  24. Ooooh very nice. love a shiny bit. Had a bloody nightmare getting everything off even after soaking in plusgas for last 3 days. 1 leg was ok, I got the big bolt thru the bush out straight away and thought “result” ... I spoke to soon. Now everything is off including the 3 bolts and mounting plate each side. I just gotta take that last sleeve outta 1. The other 🤬 I’m struggling with, had to cut bolt. Couldn’t shift it at all, and still can’t. I got the 2 ends out of the bracket but I’m left with this arm piece with what’s left of the bolt stuck solid. I’ve clubbed the hell out of it but it’s not moving. next option is gonna be 🔥 cleaned up the rest of chassis in the area ready for refit. after all the work I’ve done so far I can honestly say I’m very impressed with the condition of chassis. Need to sort 1 front outrigger and a tiny 5p size hole on the main leg. not bad for 34 yrs old. I know I wasn’t in this good a condition when I was 34, which was a good few years back now. cheers again for everyone’s help. I love this place.
  25. Very last question .. maybe am I correct in assuming the silver lining thing in here has to come out. thanks
