  1. Hmmm it blows really well and gets warmish. I seem to remember it being warmer before, although I only did a 10 min journey but the temp gauge was halfway. Is this normal?
  2. Just a quick one..... The switch on the dash (lever and cable) to turn the fan on, where does this cable go, on the side or the top of the blower box?
  3. Thanks for your help guys. The blower motor was knackered, new one works straight away on the Hotwire test. Thanks for the advice, saved a lot of messing around and the purchase of a resistor. Just got to fit all the cables back in now, oh and those 2 nightmare 13mm bolts🙄
  4. I put wire direct from the battery, positive to the purple wire on the blower unit, simultaneously I put a wire direct from the battery earth to the green and slate wire on the blower unit........nothing happened! Do I take it that the motor is Fubar? Thanks
  5. I’ll give this a go in the morning, been very busy this month.
  6. I thought you referred to wires in the switch component, I couldn’t find a black one on the blower unit itself when it was off the vehicle. I thought I’d best check before giving myself a little shock.
  7. Where can i connect a battery to test this unit. I’m testing the motor separate from the switch. Any ideas if I can connect a car battery, if so to which wires on the blower unit. Cheers
  8. https://youtu.be/du-Fu2V4oVo may Ben worth a go?
  9. I've seen a repair carried out by window companies involving a small drill and plug, used to rid condensation between windows. Maybe google condensation double glazing fix as I can't remember where it was.
  10. Ah yes now I see! To be honest I don’t want to take it back as I’ve nearly got it all back together, dont want it all apart and sprayed up again 🤦🏻‍♂️ The garage hand (labourer) thought they were bolts and drilled them out. There are rivets holding it on temporarily as they couldn’t find bolts to fit (no surprise now). The temp rivets (2 on each hinge so far) appear to be holding it well 🤷🏻‍♂️ Ive posted what it should be like below 🙄
  11. Oo er, maybe the squaddies couldn’t be bothered to weld and just bolted it on? Hoping some bolts will hold it ok then 🤷🏻‍♂️ It’s bloody heavy with the spare wheel on!
  12. This picture shows the bolt holes where they were originally, not sure if they were just bolted through into a thread but they had to drill the bolts out.
  13. I think these were originally held on with 4 pan head bolts, although they did say they had to drill them out.
  14. Ex mod 90 Defender Any ideas where the two wires from th3 map light wire into? (colours etc). thanks
  15. Just a shame the new paint stands out but this was a very difficult paint to match.
  16. Progress......now to put it all back together. Bit of an expensive job by the garage but they spent a fair bit of time on it. The paint is th3 same as the regional but obviously without the fade, hopefully this will fade/blend in time.
  17. Got called in to work, should be able to try it on Friday👍🏻
  18. Ha already done quite a bit, I’ve had classics of all sorts for years, just not done this before.
