are swviel ball sweep seals covered under warrenty. my defender 2008 model has a leak coming from the sweep seal. its never been off road well maybe on a field but thats nothing . just wondered if it is covered under its warrenty . if its not i imagine its an easy job. just checking but tell me if im right. take wheel off, detach the caliper, take the 5 or 6 bolts off that hold the swivel ball to the axle casing . take the hub and swivel housing off all in one . next undo the bolts that hold the sweep seal gasket. take off and the sweep seal. replace the sweep seal and put everything back on in the reverse order. let me know if thats right if you have the time . thank you all for your help and time. chris

hey all my 1993 discovery 200 tdi reverse lamps have stopped working on both sides . iv checked the fuses all seem to be working fine . anybody any idea on what else it could be i wondered if it cold be the reverse switch on the gear box but how would i get to that . sorry if i seem to be abit of a dummy. any help would be very much apprieciated.

wheres the cheapest place to order a set of new bf goodrich mud terrain tyres. (gf goodrich m/t km1) not the km2 i dont like the look of the new ones. the sizes needed: 235/70/16 and 265/70/16 iv seen people driving round in them so they must get them from some where cheap to be able to afford to run on them. thanks for your help.

has anyone tried putting a range rover style gearbox on a td5 defender . the gearbox where you have tiptronic controls. where you have auto but also clunk the lever over and push forward for up a gear and down for lower gear. ive had a word with ashcroft transmissions (must tell you they have been brilliant, i recommend them very much)and they say it may be possible. if so what gear box did they use or what could i use and whats involved for doing the job. thanks for your help in advance

is it possible to have a tiptronic gear box on a defender td5 110. my project is taking abit of time. but struggling with gearboxes. i like to have manual but everyone else who'll be driving it want auto. so i was wondering whether it was possible . any help again is much apprieciated. thanks everyone

im acking to buy a p38 range rover its my favourite model range rover. but couple of questions. this is the full spec range rover incase it makes a difference i dont know. which is better fuel aside?. the diesel engine, or the petrol and why? which is most reliable? and aside from the suspension what common problems do they have. thanks everyone for their help .

not meaning to but in. but speaking of beefed up td5s iv just built mine defender to 200 bhp and made it auto/ what disc and pads will be best for that. it will be goin off road an awfull lot as well

iv got a defender 1991 front axle (not salisbury.) whats the torque setting need to be at for the pinion flange nut cheers.

hi iv just done the conversion on my salisbury axle for my defender 110 it works excellent. loads of money saved as well. axle £50 quid, hubs£22 for both. all work fine it took me a while to get the spacer looking right.

what the best way to remove td5 defender injectors. some have mentioned a heel bar, any other surgestions or does this sound like the right way to go?
